Double Parked
Purpose of the Drill:
This drill helps players improve their ball-handling skills, reflexes, awareness, and peripheral vision.
How it Works:
- Players stand in a circle formation, a comfortable passing distance apart (5-7 players is an ideal number).
- Two balls start in the circle.
- The aim of the game is to eliminate players by making a player receive two passes at the same time.
- All players start with three points and are eliminated when they lose all of their points.
- Players can not hold onto a ball for an extended period of time.
- When there are only two players remaining players play off in a Grand Final.
There are two ways to lose points:
- Players lose one point for dropping a ball.
- If a receiving player catches both balls that are passed to them, the player who passed the second ball looses one point.
Grand Final Rules:
- Only one ball is used.
- The receiving player must clap their hands together whilst the ball is in the air before catching the ball.
- If the receiving player claps before the ball is in the air they lose one point.
- The passing player may fake passes (maximum three consecutive fakes) before passing.
- The last remaining player is declared the winner.
Coaching Tips:
- Players can increase difficultly by using loud voices to create confusion.
